About this site

This site is a TWikiBlog: half wiki, half blog. The blog itself is a so-called TWikiApplication based on the TWiki.NatSkin and the TWiki.BlogPlugin. TWikiApplications combine the free-form way of wiki collaboration with structuredness known to database applications. Using a wiki as an application framework offers a high degree of transparency where wikiness & structuredness can be combined at any level. There've been a couple of efforts to bring together wikis and blogs but most of them have been abandoned or fail in terms of architecture, usability and/or design (in my book). The goal of this site is to demonstrate that the benefits of both worlds can be combined in a more fruitful way than has been done before. The differences of both ways of online-communication has been pointed out several times: transient monologs versus webs of knowledge (yea, there's more to say). But let's see what will happen here and if there is such a synergetic effect combining blogs and wikis thoroughly.
